Hi guys,

I've got my C Class 220D which is needing a MAF sensor replacement, if I was to get one do they require any specialist intervention such as coding or will a replacement unit be plug and play? I couldn't see any previous threads regarding this so apologies if this has been asked before.

Any help is much appreciated

There are dozens of threads about MAF. Most of them relate to changing the MAF and not fixing the problem.
What symptoms and codes do you have ?
Which engine is this ? (220CDI is not an answer!)

I've got the codes P0101 and P2463.
Car is in limp mode and paddle shifters don't work properly, only once above 2000RPM will it shift up if it can however does not display the manual letter will always say for example 'D2' instead of 'M2'
Its the 2143cc engine in the 2014 (W205) facelift C Class saloon

Apologies I'm not well versed in the engine models yet so didn't quite understand, I believe that to be the correct engine.

I've got a better code reader which I'm waiting for in the post at the moment which can read soot levels so once that arrives in the next day or two I will be able to check. In regards to an air leak I will take a look when I get home may be a better bet than a faulty MAF.

If it adds to context I forgot to mention when this occurred was when overtaking a car on a dual carriage way and it just kicked back and immediately brung up the EML light and put it into limp mode
