Hello i have a 2007 mercedes c180 I've got a cracked sump and need to replace it. currently i dont have a engine hoist what is the best way to remove the sump as currently everything is unbolted including front subframe bolts and there is not enough of an angle to remove it has anyone done this before and can help. Thank you

Not on a C180. Which engine parts is the sump fouling? Can they be rotated (eg, crankshaft) or removed (eg, oil pick-up pipe)?

It turns out on more research and faffing about you need an engine hoist to lift the engine up enough and drop the sub frame down to get the oil pan out. all sorted and back together now minus other problems which i have to sort now thank you
