an update for my project have been through the electrics and checked over the car now have the mot booked. The car has been off the road for over 2 years so hopefully will get it back on the road soon
So update on the mot. Started car to go for mot and it’s developed a horrible rattle/ knocking from the left hand side of engine. The right side when you look at it. Sounded like it had dropped a valve or snapped a rocker. Having calmed down. Engine seemed to misfire as if it was running on 7 cylinders. Cancelled the mot as wasn’t prepared to drive it. Pulled the plugs and all seemed okay except cylinder 4 on the left bank. (Right as you look at) so I pulled the rocker covers and couldn’t really see anything. Some play in them but not bad. Found the issue on no4 with the connections to the coil. Rebuilt but still the awful noise.. pulled the plugs again and had a look in the cylinders and can’t see anything bad… removed the poly belt.. and low and behold the compressor has failed so need to sort that now. Any ideas anyone?
