Last couple of MOT advisories have mentioned of rusty road springs can these be treated in situ?

Last couple of MOT advisories have mentioned of rusty road springs can these be treated in situ?

If you mean painted then yes, I did this to mine. They broke a few months later. If they’re like other Mercs I am familiar with, it’s easy and cheap enough to change them. Jack the car up, support the control arm on a jack, undo some bolts, lower the arm and lift out the springs. Reassemble - a couple of hours work.

Oh dear sorry that don't sound good when the weather gets warmer I will have to pressure wash the rear end and probably spray treat the cleaned area in waxoyl. Keeping springs don't break the following week.
