ha ha , i ssee what i did wrang .... thanks.

Are you referring to the previous model (W204 2007-2015) or the current model (W205 2014-)?

w205.

I'm not a huge fan of the ride from the 19" rims with run flats, can be a bit "crashy" on rough roads, but are fine on decent roads with decent grip. Handling takes a little getting used to, it's easy to dial in more lock than you need and end up with understeer. But it is possible to find a nice balance, it just takes a bit of concentration. Can't imagine the coupe will be hugely different. I'd suggest going for five-spoke 18" rims and non run flats. That said, it depends what you mean by ride quality.

Just as an aside, I think 'AMG Sport' refers to the previous W204 (C204) model which was being phased out in 2015. Had one of those on 18" rims and liked it a lot. The seats were excellent.

The C205 models are either Sport or AMG Line and were I think introduced after March 2015, though it may have been August. Again the seats look great with a bit more bolstering than our estate, but I've not tried them on the road.

Anyway good luck in your search, they look great.

Mine has 19" runflats and airmatic, I find it acceptable but without airmatic probably too harsh. The steering and understeer is easily fixed, MB say 36psi all round, I found the front tyres felt too hard and only wearing in the centre of the tread. Changed the fronts to 30psi & the front feels planted and handling is much better. Hopefully they will wear evenly now as well.

Mmmmm im not sure now then if its a late 15 plate w204 . Its defo on 18,s though. Ill find out in the morning. Was concerned what they are like on harsh bumpy roads and will it put my back out.

The VIN will tell you if it's a 204 or a 205. The 204 should be considerably cheaper as it is the previous model etc.

With regards ride.... both my previous W203 and current W204 were Classic SE / Executive SE respectively, with the higher/softer suspension and 16" wheels, for this reason precisely. The obvious 'penalty' is that the handling isn't as tight and it lacks the spoiler kit and the agressive stance of the lowered Sport model with 18" wheels.

I guess you'll need to take the car for a test drive on some less-than-perfectly-smooth roads and see how you get on with it.

yeah i know , i must learn how to put them on here, the original buyer was a mr.v hudson from toft knutsford cheshire , wonder if he is a member on here. ?

erm ,3 stage heated seats . then the usual , sat nav, aircon, parktronic, folding mirrors,18 inch amg alloys, power upgrade.ive got the data card it states £36.000 new , they dont half shift for a 2 litre, in comparison to a lardy 3.0 v6 cls .

a. You car should have COMAND NTG4.5 Gen3 (aka NTG4.7). This means you can tether COMAND to the Internet via your iPhone or Android phone.

b. It should also have the KOM Module and the TomTom Live Traffic subscription option. This was free for the first 3 years, and if it hasn't been renewed in 2018, then you can renew it online after registering the car with Mercedes Me.

c. The latest maps would be 2019 v18.0.

d. And I also recommend updating the firmware on the COMAND unit - the last firmware update was released in 2016 I believe.

In terms of servicing, assuming it has FSH so far, this is what the service schedule looks like:

2016 - Service A

2017 - Service B, brake fluid

2018 - Service A

2019 - Service B, brake fluid, air filter, fuel filter

2020 - Service A, ATF and filter

As you can see, the 2019 and 2020 services are the big ones, so if the 2019 service hasn't been done yet, then you should consider a Service Care Plan to cover the next 2 or 3 services.

Think I'll be changing the air and fuel filter. Seems easy enough. Merc want £680 . I'll use an Indy when the autobox needs an oil n filter change.
