OK. I am ready!! I am ready to join the AMG community and cant wait, just looking for the right vehicle right now. Please help me along the way. Is it worth buying the AMG63S Night Edition over the AMG63S Premium Plus? I see you get a few extras tech wise but there seems quite a price difference? And does the gorgeous sound of an 2018/19 facelift model get lost on the later 2020/21 night edition models due to the particulate filter? Thank you

The OPF does indeed interfere with the sound, however I hear that the last edition cars sound slightly fruitier and that a software change may help.

If you like screens then go for the facelift. If you like sound then go for the pre-facelift. If you prefer well maintained go for the best example regardless of trim level.

Good luck with the search 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks, your opinion/feedback is helpful, I really appreciate it

OP, if you are referring to all facelift cars, facelift PP v facelift later PP + NE, it’s worth looking at the comparative equipment lists on each car you consider. A lot of it is personal taste. I guess the market values packages so PP NE cars will hold a premium. But you may personally prefer to do without some NE bits and go got an older FL car in order to get the pre GPF bigger sound.

If you go for FL, you get the bigger screens, updated 9 spd gearbox and smoother ride and other bits regardless of equipment. Some people here say 9 spds are too much. If you go for a coupe/Cabrio you get a wider rear track and lower overall gearing but higher weight.

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. Forgive my ignorance, but I don’t know what you mean by OP, PP + NE and GPF?

Some other codes we use around the forum are and there could be some more missed out 😁

TT = twin turbo
PFL=pre face lift
FL=facelift
BS=black series

Indeed and much depends on personal taste. When I was speccing my C63S in 2021, they were all NE PP. there were only a couple of options as everything was thrown in, with a couple of exceptions. For example the Carbon Fibre packs were not available on the NE and I had to bend a few ears to get mine.

Here’s the brochure which will give you an indication. I personally am much less concerned about the sound with GPF, which I think is mellow and throaty (and sounds good from the outside) and no worse than my W204 C63, and more annoyed by the soupy steering off centre, which is the same for every 205 and has no fix.

Otherwise a magnificent car, although mine is Brabused so maybe not representative.
