I want to replace the battery on my 2011 facelift C63 Wagon.
Are there any procedures to follow once installed ?.
Do the electric windows and sunroof need to be ' reset ' ?.
Will i get ESP , ABS errors flag up ,that need to have the steering turned lock to lock to erase ?.
Also will i need to input a code for the radio ?.

I needed to do all of the above on my previous W210,s .

Many thanks
Rob

Also , can anyone recommend a replacement battery make , apart from going OE at a dealer..
What is the significance of ' 017 and 019 ' in battery listings ?

Thanks

You may possibly have to reset the windows/sunroof after a battery change.
Just open each window fully on the switch, then raise it and hold the switch on for 5 secons. The sunroof is the same.
You shouldn't get any spurious error messages like ESP. MB don't use codes on radios anymore. Things have moved on a lot since the W210.

There should be a slight difference in dimensions between the 017 and 019 battery, usually height. From the website, looks like you need an 019
I would call MB Grangemouth and get a quote for a battery as they offer a decent discount if you mention the forum. Usually next day delivery.
If you don't want to use the dealer, I'd get a Varta or Bosch battery from www.tayna.co.uk

Thanks Roger , I thought as much .

Same message from me as always: Undo the earth terminal fully and remove before undoing/touching the + connection. Earth leads on German cars are often Brown so don't think that means live like UK mains, look at the marking on the battery.

Fully tighten the + terminal when re-installing before connecting the earth and tightning that.

Make sure you put the earth terminal straight on, the less sparks the better. It will spark though !

The reason is that the body connects to earth terminal, so if its connected and your metal spanner (which is on the + bolt as you tighten it) touches the body you have a big problem - especially if it is via a piece of jewellery you are wearing such as a ring or a watch will get red-hot.

Also if you let it spark a lot as you connect it back you put spikes down the electric which is not good.
