C63 door lights not working.

Hi.

Have posted this on Piston heads, but thought I would ask here also.

The lights on the bottom of the doors on my C63 Coupe 2013 MY are not working. I have just taken them out and the bulbs are there but the unit feel out because not connected to anything. Were these an option from new.

You need to have ‘Lighting Package - Option 876’

You can get the looms and make them work they are around £30 per door

Option 876 includes:
- Courtesy lighting in exterior mirrors
- Courtesy lights in doors
- Illuminated air vent thumbwheels
- Illuminated door recess
- Illuminated front footwell
- Illuminated interior handle recess

This was only £150 at order

I’m shocked this is not standard on an AMG

There are some OEM illuminated door sills for sale on the classifieds which I believe will fit your car... don’t know if your interested in modding Genuine Amg illuminated door sills c63 c204

I am surprised to that it was an option. Not to bothered really, but would be nice to have those features.
So, I take it, that if I get the looms, all the lights are there, they just need the loom connecting.

Would you know if this is a job a Merc garage should do or is it quite straight forward. As, I could do it possibly...!!!!

Hi Dave,

The door puddle lights are relatively simple as they are already there you just need the loom fitting.

The other lights part of the pack however will be quite expensive to add. For example you would need new exterior mirrors etc.

I’d say if you really want the puddle lights go ahead as the loom is relatively cheap but the other lights might be too expensive/time consuming.

As for the question if you could do it yourself, it depends on your confidence. Ultimately you are just running a loom from the light to the door controller. I’ll have to look up if it will then need coding to make it work.

I’m sure there will be a guide online I’ll have a look

Thanks very much for your help.
Would like the door lights working if possible, as for the rest, probably won't bother if to much agro and money.
Cannot understand why this was not standard on these cars.

Members in the c63 fb group have just purchased puddle lights from eBay and plugged them in, the ones that show an illuminated (and personally, an incredibly cheesy as hell) image of their choice
