car jerks back a little once you lift your feet off the gas pedal w123 240D MANUAL 1981

Is it normal for the car to jerk back a little once you lift your foot off the gas pedal sharply and then back on again, its more pronounced at lower gears not that perceptable in 4th ? its a 4 gear box
not had it long and used to driving an 2015 S350 so i am a bit out of touch, it reminds me of my 3 series landrover when i had one over 30 years ago any thoughts would be interesting before it goes in for a check over

Should not do this if its a manual box .
