2017 mercedes c220d amg line 2 door coupe
I have a 2017 c220d amg line w205 2 door coupe and i keep getting an email saying "battery monitor - charge status critical then my reg. I have changed the main battery for an exact replacement of the original. I checked the battery voltage today, and with engine off the voltage was 13.45. I then started the engine and at tick over the voltage was 16.72. The car always starts with no problem and everything works ok, except I still keep getting this email and a message on the dashboard saying to start the car and run form 30 minutes.

I'm not an expert but it looks like your car may be over charging as 16 volts seems very high. I think it should be in the 14 volts range when charging.

Those voltages seem to high to me, but apart from that, you will have a capacitor behind the glove box (instead of aux battery) which is known to fail and can cause these warnings and stop start issues.

I have a 2018 W205 and whenever I clean the car , opening & closing the doors boot etc , I inevitably get the message in the dash " Start Car, battery low, see handbook" (or similar) . My stop/start has never really worked, I don't often have the green light even after an 80 mile run.

Funny that. My S63 has been on Sorn & hooked up to my Ctek since November. All Ctek lights on, so happy. However my Range Rover began showing "Low battery message & it has a start/stop Ctek which only has 3 lights & the red warning light which was sometimes illuminating (I always think the more lights the better  ), Anyway I switched off the MXS 5 from the S63 & plugged it onto the Range Rover. It got to light five then the red light came on. Manual states it is not holding a charge so probably needs replaced. Fair enough. A couple of hours of the Ctek being disconnected from the S63 MercedesMe on my phone pinged up "Low Battery start engine, Critical" Went to garage started it up first time, let it run for about 30 mins, switched off, put Ctek back on, all lights on. Checked MercedesMe about a week later, no message, battery status as "charged"

I normally run the car for 10 minutes after the message appears, never had a problem starting it. I'm going to borrow my friends CTEK next week to see what the battery condition is. Although no longer subscribed to "Mercedes Me" I still get an email telling me my battery is in a critical state.

As says, both of those voltage readings are too high.

Can you check with another voltmeter?
