Hi all

I can't seem to find any information regarding the correct tyre pressues for the wheels on my car.

I have a 2004 CL500 but is has the option 19" staggered AMG wheels fitted with 245/40/19 on the front and 275/40/19 on the rear.

Can anybody please tell me the correct tyre pressures please?

I have looked inside the fuel filler cap but the info there may as well be in hyroglyphics and I can find infornation for the 18" tyre pressues but nothing more?

Sorry if I sound a bit daft but its driving me mad!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers all.

Post an image of your “hieroglyphics” from inside your fuel cap and we’ll translate it for you. (It’s a mistake to “guess” that it “must” be the same as on another CL500)

What pressures have you been running so far, and are you concerned about them being hard or soft?

And what’s the tyre wear like? Even across the tyres, or wearing more at the centre or edges?

When you looked in the car’s manual / handbook, what did it say? Was there something that worried you?

Those tyre sizes are incorrect...the rears should have a lower profile. The rears should be 275/35.
I use the same pressures as for the 17s.

Pressures are not stated in the handbook.

You’re absolutely right, I just realised I’d put the wrong size rears in!

So what are the 17” pressures?

Use the same tyre pressures as stated in your fuel filler flap for the 18 inch wheel. You’d only need to change pressures significantly when straying a long way from standard sizes. A factory option wheel will be the same tyre pressure as the standard wheel.

Manufacturers offer a range of tyre pressures as a guide - which might be why you’re struggling read them - but it’s important to monitor wear and adjust pressures accordingly.
