CL500 (W216) Problem with peeling film on drivers and passengers windows. Any ideas?

On those windows its probably aftermarket. Have you checked it for legality?
I would probably just remove it, its not a good look, especially with the peel.

Quite a few cases of delamination on Pilkington (I think?) windows have been reported. Apparently it looks like little air bubbles. Not much can be done and it will get steadily worse until replacement is required.
Delamination is indeed an issue, as Noy says, but - according to the sainted Malcolm - only on the 215, not on the 216. The 216's windows were tinted as standard and I'd agree with Matt that Peter's problem is very likely an aftermarket darker film and best removed.

Thanks guys, I will remove the film. As you say not a good look on the car.
