Hi,
Appreciate this is for Electric Mercedes owners, but wanted to add my experiences with my 2023 CLA 250e Shooting Brake plugin hybrid that I bought this time last year.
I have a home charger on an off-peak tariff so running costs are very low and as most of my journeys are under 40 miles, these are driven using electric. Purchased the car on a PCP as even now the value for these cars is still unpredictable, so this way it fixes the end value so no worry in 3 years time if real values bomb.
Car is quiet, comfortable and fast enough for me. Not bothered about the Renault engine that’s often mentioned as it’s an engine, and as long as it works that’s fine by me!
The SB is useful for carrying stuff about, but the hybrid does reduce the amount of space in the boot, but knowing the seats knock down solves any issues transporting stuff to the tip or cases for holidays
Servicing is typically overpriced at MB dealers, so I took out a 3 year service plan (£35 per month) that covers 3 services, brake fluid change at two years, pollen filter and MoT when due.
Technology is good and a lot better than my previous car (Audi Q4) that I’m sure I was a Beta tester for the software that was clearly underdeveloped and caused a lot of issues. A feature that is missing is the ability to set a specific start and stop time to charge the, but as I can use the Pod Point app to do this it’s not an issue.
And as I experienced with my Audi, some dealers still lack knowledge about the car and its features, but things are improving slowly.
One ongoing issue is the boot lid opens if I have the key fob in my pocket and bend over or pick something up. There is a MB fix but they want £150 to update the key fob software and no one else other than a MB dealer can do this!
So happy with the car, and moving to Plugin hybrid has proved for me to be good decision. Would be good to hear how other owners are getting on with their plugin hybrids.
