CLK 320CDi Oil Leak

Hi all,

I have oil leak near or out of oil filler cap on my CLK 320CDi. Photo attached.

I have fitted a new filler cap, but this does not seem to help.

The plastic pipe thing near the filler cap always seems to be covered in oil, can't see any holes, but not sure what this pipe does?

The rest of the engine appears dry, and the car never use to use any oil.
I may have overfilled the oil one day, but not sure, as this seems to be when the problem started.

My driveway has quite an accumulation of oil as a result of it leaking from somewhere.

I am not sure what is causing this. Any ideas?

Look down the back of engine on either side to see if there is oil running there , it’s probably the oil cooler seals

Clean up the area around the filler cap and see if it reoccurs
