cls shooting brake engine won't switch off

Hi, I have a 2014 CLS250 shooting brake. When I turn off the engine and remove the key the engine continues to run. The radio switches off but lights and engine remain on. Has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas what the fault can be. Thank you.

Never come across this fault,but I would look at the ignition barrel,have you tried both keys,will be interested when you get it sorted as to what it was. how did you stop the engine,I suppose disconnect the battery

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Yes I have tried the other key, still the same. Yes I remove the fuel pump fuse, then disconnect the battery to switch off.

Is it a petrol or a Diesel?

If diesel, check your engine oil level immediately and don't drive it until you've checked the oil level. It could be start of engine run away possibly?

I've only come across this on ML where water gets into SAM unit and shorts it
