Hi guys,

a quick question... How long would CLS brakes last for mostly town driving? Replacement discs and pads?

What have you guys found so far?

cheers

It all depends on how you drive it, but pads last up to 30,000kms and disc's around 80-90k.

It does seem to be a strange question. Now, if you are thinking of track days then that's another matter.

The CLS is at best a £20k car, so if you're concerned about running costs then also look at depreciation and fuel, as these will be greater than the cost of pads/discs.

I have a BMW whcih costs a fair bit to run, and i track day regularly... I dont skimp on things..

Im asking about these wear and tear items as i want to know, I do not care for MPG or depreciation.

And yet depreciation will cost far more than a few brakes and tyres!

I've known the pads to last for upto 35,000 miles, and the discs can go upto 50-60k miles. Depends on driving style.

If you learnt to drive properly they would last a bit longer :p

LOl Richard, you wanna come track day with me:p Have you sold the Big D?

Please dont start picking on spelling, its a chat forum not a letter to the queen.

Why..?

Because im interested.... Is that ok?

Sorry. Where did I pick on your spelling?

Hi guys, I dont have the Owners manual to hand, What tyre pressures on 245/40/18?

look in the fuel cap. I think its 29F 32R

Thats quite low, for a big car.

My bmw runs like 40 rear and 37 front?

Really growing to like the CLS. Only driven it a few times though.

Sounds OK to me. Normal loading/speed that is.

Done 20k on my CLS320 CDI NO signs of Discs/brake pads required yet.:thumb:

Did 26k on my E320CDI W211 but had to change rear pads/discs after a track day.

Ever thought aBout tuning her?
