Cm wheels....what do you think?

I had 20" wheels on my w212 e220. The ride was pretty shit to say the least. I decided I wanted to go down to around 19" or 18", I finally made my mind up and chose 18". I found cm wheels and the wheels looked really affordable. I opted for the amg replicas in metal finish...6 months down the line and all the laqure is peeling off them. They had insisted I have been use acid wash on my wheels, I wash the car my self (always have).

They had made it nearly impossible for me to get refunded, they needed my wheels for 2 weeks, and if they found any evidence of acid wash they would require myself to cover all costs. Who can spare their wheels for 2 weeks?????
I have added pictures of when I bought the wheels, and now 6 months after buying the wheels.

I'm just curious if anybody has any issues or same dealings as I have?.

You do not mention the mileage you did over those 6 months, either way you would not expect the finish to look that bad in such a short while .

Tbh that's pretty normal with diamond cut wheel's but not after 6 month's though depending on weather conditions

I do around 30 miles a day. I've spoken to many wheel specialists and have advised the same.

I've had mine redone with a 12 month warranty so I wouldn't expect that after 6 months

The wheels are replicas so not really surprising.. if you kerbed any of them then that's when the dreaded white worm sets in.. you can just get them powdercoated by a reputable company..

Not kerb damage what so ever, I always go up a kerb. Like I said, I've had them check by a wheel specialist and they have said with the amount of miles I have done and the time frame, I should not be having problems with them. The company is in Northern Ireland, and would need my wheels for 2 weeks. Made it impossible for me (practically)

Hi kendog91 , I had a similar problem with my wheels and I had them repainted.

Unfortunately they have failed again , it's not unusual for alloy wheels paints to fail within 18 months.

They look fine from 6 feet but close up they don't look good.

My wheels are genuine MB product and the repaint was carried out to MB specs.

I would not hold your breath in getting your wheels repainted for free.

Hi Spider 10 , suggest you out how diamond cut wheels are produced.

Each process produces a weaker wheel.

That's why I had my wheels painted to MB cold process.

Unfortunately that's the downside with diamond cut wheels.
There is no guarantee on how long the lacquer will last. easily chipped and white worms due to water ingress. and easily stained with any wheel cleaner, even those wheel cleaners which states they are ph neutral, which actually isnt.
6 months is a bit of a halfway house. Neither here nor there. Not helping your case. Sorry.
CM wheels are pretty good in terms of their wheels, many of the facebook C63 AMG UK group buys from them.

I know how they are produced and yes i agree you can only have them redone a few times pending on how much they take off due to damage etc the op has reproduced fake AMG alloys diamond cut and the question was in relation to the milking which is quite common No mention of paint failing etc

I've often wondered, when I'm reading about diamond cut wheels, milking, if you got them re-diamond cut but didn't get them lacquered, but say ceramic coated them, would they be ok? Or would they still go milky, is it the lacquer that's doing it?

Hello there I've just bought some of those wheels but ones cracked and was wondering if you had the model number for those AMG reps because can't find a set any where
