Hi - my car is a 2015 E350 212 estate. I've had this error off and on for a while now. The screen will display "Collision prevention assist plus inoperative" and the ESP warning light comes on as well as the engine light. The car goes into a limp mode. If you switch the engine off and then on again everything seems back to normal with the exception that the engine light stays on, but the car drives fine and there don't seem to be any other issues.
I have an iCarSoft MB V2 and when I read the code it is P2138 Throttle/pedal position sensor/switch D/E voltage correlation. I can erase the code and the engine light goes off. When this first happened it would be OK for a while, perhaps several months or weeks, but now seems to come back on within a few days. Sometimes if you leave it the engine light goes out of its own accord. The error message seems to happen at random, sometimes just after you start up, other times when you are driving along.
I have tried the throttle reset procedure but that doesn't seem to help. I understand from the code that the problem is related to the sensors at either or both the pedal and at the throttle control on the engine, but not sure which is likely to be the problem and I can't see anything on the iCarSoft that would help more.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions - worth changing the sensors? Easy job or not, and are they plug and play or do they need coded once fitted?
Thanks for any help.
Pete
