Hi

I need to order a new MAF for my 1996 C230 Kompressor.

The one fitted is part number 0000940048 (Mercedes) or 0280 217 100 (Bosch). It has a round electrical connector.

Like this aftermarket one: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/stark/7589159

When searching for replacements, parts sites suggest a MAF with a narrow cigar shaped electrical connector.

Like this aftermarket one: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ridex/8052543

Is anyone able to confirm which design should be fitted, are they inter-changable with a different connector?

Cheers

Search for the Mercedes part number on Autodoc. The replacements options all have the round connector as far as I can see. When ordering, go through the Autodoc app - it offers better discounts.

Thanks.

Are there any brands you recommend on Autodoc, other than Bosch?

£400+ for a maf stings a bit 😂

Pierburg is usually good but, given how little the car is likely to be worth, I’d be tempted to go with one of the cheaper ones. A bit of a risk but worth taking in my opinion.

LoL it’s not ready for the scrap heap yet.

There’s not many standard manual 230k left.

Cheapo Maf will give you problems, been down that route on my ex c200 M111 engine...bite the bullet BOSCH

Shop around too, GSF were cheaper when I was looking for a MAF - google the MB part number and you’ll get plenty of options.
