Cranks no start

I have a 2005 SL350 (467) its been dry stored for a few months, went to start in yesterday and it wouldn't fire up. Cranks over fine but won't start. I've got DTC P1925 on my iCarsoft and 197 Status of drive authorisation "immobilizer is activated" in live data.
Anyone any ideas on how to diagnose further?

Were it mine I'd research the effect of an active immobiliser ie, what does it prevent eg, ignition and/or fuelling (my 2005 smart when immobilised wouldn't even crank) and in parallel check for the absence of ignition and/or fuelling by pulling a plug and expecting a dry plug that doesn't spark when grounded and engine cranking - or one or the other. The absence of both I'd consider as some sort of confirmation of an active immobiliser but one or the other being present (especially spark) would suggest to me the problem is elsewhere.
How long is a 'few' months? Any possibility the fuel has gone stale? (It stores well in a sealed tank (any sign of leaking filler cap etc?) but not forever).

Thanks for the reply Bellow. I have put fuel in it as it ran out as I parked up. It's been stored 3 months. Like you say I'll check for spark etc. I've just bought a Chinese copy STAR machine and plugged it in this morning. I got a similar DTC to my iCarsoft. P1925 "Drive authorisation has been refused by control module N15/5 electronic selector module (ESM EWM) in "STORED" status. So I think the gearshift is the problem although it moves through all the selections OK?

I'm going to try that later......fingers crossed. R230s dont like being left unattended for long periods of time do they?? My own fault LOL.

I finally plugged my SL350 in again. I have P1925 current and stored so can’t clear it. It’s also stored in EIS. I’m sure the fault is in the ESM shifter as the drive authorisation is missing from it. Anyone no how to go about repair/replacing it as I assume keys etc need to be synchronised ?
