Hi,

This is a little embarrassing, but despite having read the manual, I am still not able to active cruise control on my e63.

Pushing the stalk upwards causes the MFD to display the 'Cruise Control MPH - - -' message. I understand from the manual that one of the following activation conditions havent been met:

Activation conditions
To activate cruise control, all of the following activation conditions must be fulfilled:
  • the parking brake must be released.
  • you are driving faster than 30 km/h.
  • ESP® must be switched on, but not intervening.
  • the transmission must be in position D.
  • the cruise control function must be selected more
I am on a motorway, so it's safe to assume that I'm doing more than 30kmh and the parking brake is off, transmission mode is set to ''s' or ''s+', esp is set to ''sport'.

Edit: actually, it doesn't work in default modes either.

What am I doing wrong?

Regards,
Alex

Set ESP to the default, not Sport.

Thanks Phil - thought that I had tried that, but will check again. I thought ESP = Sport met the criteria, but I can see why it doesn't. The manual is quite poor at explaining things sometimes!.

Certainly on my facelift E63, if I have cruise (Distronic Plus) engaged and I then select the Sport setting for ESP it instantly disengages cruise.

Thanks for replying to confirm. I don't have distronic plus on my car, but that seems to make sense to me.

I was going to plow through the functional descriptions in WIS next!
