Hi All
I have had my 2012 C200 Estate W204 for about 2 years and I am as happy today as when I bought it!
I have seen many cars of the same year/spec, driving in the dark with their headlights on, some with and some without the running lights on. When my headlights come on, my running lights go out. Is there any way that I can make it so that with the headlights on, the running lights also stay on? Thanks.

Why?

Seems to be the case that if you have halogen headlights the drls go out, and if you have led (or possibly hid) they will dim.
You might be able to find someone who can code them to dim.

It's reconfigurable via STAR.

On cars equipped with Halogen headlamps, the default setting is for the DRLs to turn-off when the headlights turn on (presumably this is for aesthetic reasons, i.e. to prevent the unsightly contrast between the bright white DRLs and the yellowish Halogen headlamps).

On cars equipped with HID (Xenon) or LED headlamps, the factory default is for the DRLs to stay on at all times though at reduced brightness when the headlights are turned on.

As said, the default can be changed using STAR.

Thanks for your very helpful replies, I'll go to my Indy Merc Specialist and get him to make the changes :-)
