'Diesel-saving' technology could make it to market in two years | Autocar

Can anybody else see the next f***up decision on emissions from the Gov coming?

1st they deliberately tinkered with the tax system to get us to buy diesel to reduce CO2 emissions. So we purchased more and more diesel cars. The manufacturers responded by expanding the range of diesel cars - try buying a used petrol E class that's NOT an AMG...

Now the Gov want to gat us back in petrol to reduce NOx emissions - and it looks like the public are responding by buying new petrol, the manufacturers will respond by expanding the range of petrol cars

So in 5 years will the Gov want us back in diesel once the NOx emissions are sorted to reduce CO2 again?

The turnaround could well be sooner than that. There is already news that CO2 levels are increasing due to the switch from diesel to petrol vehicles.

Ignore the Daily Wail and Auto Express media froth.

When electric car technology delivers acceptable capability at a reasonable price, the internal combustion engine will die out. Until then, enjoy what you have.

As we are being "pushed" towards electric cars, how and where is all the mains electricity going to be generated for these vehicles. Many countries have little or no wind turbines. Wave power seems to be ignored. Hybrids and/or fuel cells are likely to be the better long term option.

It's just another excuse to steal money out of our pockets no matter what we buy. We're just mere plebs to them so the saying "same shit, different bucket" still applies ....
