e220 2011 Media interface socket

Wonder if anyone can help, my media interface socket (inside the arrest column) only works with the jack accessory. Neither a USB or iPod accessories work, I spoke to a garage and they said that it is either a problem with the socket connecting to the control module or the control module itself... but would cost a fortune to investigate...

Really would like to know:

1. How to get to the socket, wonder if anyone has a link how or guide how to dismantle to get to the socket. I am very good with IT and can do basic things with car, provided some sort of guide but cannot find any...
2. I was originally hoping to enable bluetooth streaming, but after being in the engineering menu, seems it is not available in my version, or maybe the firmware, also can not find a source to download this....I think my firmware is SW Build 16.203 dated 16/03/2011.

My car is a Mercedes E220 2.1 CDI Blue Efficiency SE Edition with the COMAND-APS NTG4.5.

I managed to do this by taking out the centre column with this video:
