Good Afternoon guys, I hope everyone is well!

I'm having a sudden weird issue with my e350 cdi, hoping someone can shed some light please

basically, went out this morning, car started fine as usual, however while driving, it cut out, which was strange since car had plenty of fuel and battery is all good, I then tried to start it back up, cranked a little but wouldn't start, then stopped cranking completely

I've also checked for fault codes, hasn't really picked anything up

any advice would be much appreciated

thank you

cutting out always trigger a code, unless EIS related and car thinks it was commanded. Change code reader.

Double check battery condition.

thanks for the response,

upon using another scanner, I've noticed 2 codes, however they are stated to be 'stored' rather than 'current'

'communication with electronic ignition lock has a malfunction'

'there's a fault in control unit 'EZS'

however I'm not too sure if this is indicating the actual fault or if the codes are stored just because I was playing about with the fuses, making sure they're all fine

are there any specific symptoms I can look out for? to determine whether that's the fault or not

battery seems to be all good, was replaced just some months ago

also, just to add to the above, my steering seems to lock, unlock and function just fine, but no crank,

I've heard no crank could be a symptom of a bad EIS?
