Hi, ive just purchased a C320 2003 ( and new to forum) .
The drivers electric seat isn't working is there an obvious place to start looking for repair? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.

Check the fuse as a first investigation. Is it the full electric seat or mechanical for and aft movement with electrical recline and seat base movement?

Your handbook should tell you where they are located as there are several fuse boxes, one at the end of the dashboard on the driver side, one in the engine bay and one in the rear SAM unit.

Well it could be a connection under the seat, you may well find the fuse in the boot on the left side there is a section that pulls off and there are fuses behind it.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I literally bought the car last night so not had chance to have a look round. It does have manual forwards and back so I think it's just recline. I'll get more info when im back from work and update

Almost certainly a fuse, I had the same problem on my C320. I am fairly sure the fuse is in the rear SAM unit.

Look on the left hand side of the boot, there is a pull out panel in the boot trim, in here you will find some fuses and from memory it is the second one down from the top.

Hi,
You could try the seat with the ignition off , key out of the ignition and the driver's door open as I seem to recall there is a relay in circuit that give the seat power when the door is open but ignition off.
There will almost certainly be two fuses for this one for control another for the motor.
Are there other things not working? as this would normally indicate that the control fuse has blown.
