engine light fault on. diagnostic shows code P220E .What is this ?

What car, year, milage etc - does it have FSH vy MB etc, etc
A quick Google is pointing to Nox sensor problem.
Car driving good/normal etc

Not discussed First time of asking
Have you not searched on line yourself?

We are not mind readers here so if you want help it would be useful if you provided, make model engine type, age, mileage.

Ok. With a nox sensor fault, the car does not run normally ie hesitation is easily noted. I've had a problem on
my gle/250d years ago, just outside the 3 yr warranty ended. Car had an on time FSHMB. As
soon as the engine light came on, the car became very sluggish.
hopefully someone else may be able to help

Yes I tried but I am a novice at this game.My merc is a 220 bluetec diesel,.milage 45000 full service.runs OK,never had a problem except 18 months ago engine sign came on and diagnosed by garage as catalytic sensor needed replacing,over£700 total.Other than that never had a problem.I am 84, don't want to be ripped off again if necessary.

NOX sensor faults are PITA, they can pop up right after you change other, and then ECU thinks other fails when it sees too much deviation... very known problem in MB system... Your car won't regen DPF or pass MOT when fault is on, so I think it is dealer thing.... you are still not specifying model year of your car, is it is W212 some handy MB specialist might do something to it just by buying new sensor, if it is W213 specialist must be a bit more handy... or then go to official MB stealer..

Thanks for reply.I can knock off the engine light using diagnostic meter but it returns after perhaps 3 months or so,ie could do that to pass mot I suppose. As I have said, never had a problem in running the car.
