Engine management light W205

Engine management light appeared just as I was leaving home in France to drive to the UK. I went straight to my local MB garage who took it in straight away and said it's a known Mercedes problem something to do with the anti pollution system. They reset the computer and said not to worry if it came on again. I said that as soon as I return I will bring the car in. They don't bother we will order the pieces needed but as they already had two other cars awaiting parts since August with the same problem, they would contact me as soon as they arrived. It seems the problem is in Germany with lack of parts. My daughter has a VW Golf in the UK and has a gearbox problem being dealt with under warranty but they can't get the parts from Germany either. What's going on?

Stock issues, and transport is not as frequent. Every industry was hit after the inception of COVID.

I'm having the same issue with parts for my W205....Ive been told Jan 2024

Since the C220d is an EU6 Diesel car, I am guessing that the issue is either with the AdBlue system (new tank Inc sensor?) or NOx sensor(s). How old is the car? Is it still covered by warranty? Also, has the car had an engine software update recently?

Sounds like a NOx issue to me.
As for parts nothing new - been covers in the news for last ahem few years

Mine came on.w205 found blocked addblue injector and broken wire on addblue tank. Fixed .have now booked in to Mercedes for the software upgrade and possibly new nox sensors f o c.mine is c Class 2015 with 100.000 miles .Mercedes are doing this free due to software update.just go on m b site check yours just put vin no in it tells you if there is a upgrade.worth doing save hundreds of £
