Changed oil 3 months ago, drove 300 miles and engine oil sign come, check engine oil on the next refulling, when checked it was less, any idea, please?
Thanks

Sounds like a leak. Check the sump plug and oil filter housing for signs of an oil leak first. May be a simple fix you never know.

Blue smoke from exhaust indicating oil being burned , usually failed turbo seals .

Or leaks , or you did last oil change and filled not on a level surface hence incorrect reading , topup with oil and monitor

When did you last check the oil level?

It may have not been filled-up fully during the oil change.

Its a gray smoke or may be bluish. But no leaks on the ground

Blue smoke is burnt oil....

There you goooo.... First undo turbo pipe and check if there is any oil inside the turbo itself.... Check turbo shaft play

I have check oil leak, no drops on the driveway.
That suggests no EXTERNAL oil leak .

The first thing to check is that level was correct to begin with ; fill to correct level and monitor .

As others have said oil could be leaking into other components ( turbo , gearbox ) or into cooling system ( although more usually coolant under greater pressure goes into oil ) check coolant reservoir and under oil filler cap for signs of emulsion ( coolant/oil mixture - a sort of creamy substance ) which would be sign of cylinder head gasket failure .

However , until we know level was correct to begin with , we don’t know if there has been any significant loss .

I have checked coolant bottel, no oil in that.

Blue or grayish smoke means engine oil getting burnt.... Do as i suggested earlier and check inside turbo..

Oil gets into combustion usually from turbo worn seals and bearings.
Less common are worn piston rings or valve guides etc but that shouldn't be the case with Merc diesel as they last a long time

How to do that any idea pls?

Is it smoking all the time? How much oil did you put in when you changed the oil? What was the oil level showing immediately after you refilled it? How much did the oil level drop by in 300 miles? If you answer these questions it will be easier to help...

Before you get too upset about this, a few have recommended "get it on a level surface, check the oil level and top it up to the full mark, then monitor the level for a while". In other words, get it accurately full then check the level (on a level surface) every few days to see if anyhting is happening.

In 20+ years of owning a Porsche 968, the only time I had to add oil was a week after a service, I'd need to add maybe 1/2L. After that I'd check the level every couple of weeks and never had to add a drop - until a week or so after the next service! I've found my S204 is the same, and have not had the SLK280 long enough to find out yet.

If you do the above and the level does drop noticably, then start looking for the cause - but I'd hazard a guess it won't!!

Well I am with Chrishazle on this,as stated get the car level, remember that it differs from engine to engine, some times putting 1/2 a litre of oil is enough to go from min to full,so just fill the engine a little at a time and use the dipstick until it is at or near the full level, and then check every few days

Remember to run the engine up to operating temperature, then let it rest for 5min before checking the level.
