I’ve been loaned a premium plus while our premium is having a wheel refurbed after being delivered kerbed.

I’ve turned off the HuD and the sound experience (both annoying and distracting) I’m yet to use the new digital headlights and listen to the upgraded sound system in detail.

As for looks it’s just the wheels and front grille that differ, again both I’m not keen on. (Wheels on the premium look more EV in style)

So far I have no regrets opting for the premium but I do quite like the colour of this one 😆

Update, the digital headlights and 360 cameras seem to be the options worth having although the headlights are more of a want than need.

I have HUD and 360⁰ cameras on the Hyundai, and I do like both these options. The sound system is rubbish though :D

I noticed quite a difference in options on both of my Premium Plus models over the Premium and standard AMG Line models, maybe you've not noticed them all yet?

Trim levels have changed on the new EV platform so not as big a difference as previous (so I’m told by a couple of dealerships)

Rear wheel steer and heated screen are a couple of differences I haven’t mentioned. Can’t see the point of the heated screen when I pre heat before leaving the house.

Probably more accurate to say the new premium is not so much different to the older premium plus if that makes more sense.

How reliant do you become on the cameras rather than just turning your head?

On the rentals that I’ve had I find I still just turn my head and use the mirrors first, not wanting to misread distances or edges. (But then I’ve jumped in and out of different sized cars over time)

And then there’s the whole dirty camera issue - especially at this time of year. Drives me crazy that they can get so unusable so quickly.

Expensive tech options that add complexity but not much usability?

I get it that they’re a necessary step to self-driving car and Robotaxi SAE4 nirvana, but aren’t we still a long way from that, despite all the promises from Valmet, Google and Tesla?

I found the cameras more useful for parking than driving and the traffic light camera was good when it actually worked!

I find the bird's-eye view on my 360⁰ camera very useful to ensure that I am parked within the parking bay markings, without having to get out of the car. Not a game changer, but certainly a nice-to-have feature. I did not have issues with the cameras getting dirty.
