Hi, I have a 2008 Vito Traveliner. Now and again as I’m driving several issues occur. ‘ENR not activated’ ‘SRS’ fault radio goes off, indicators stop working ‘brake’ and ‘park’ red lights on dash. Van drives normally but obviously something going on. Is there a SAM unit that controls all of these things or any other common earth points or nodes etc.

How old is the battery? alot of issues like this can be when its on its way out/nearly dead.

I’m not sure, I’ve only had the van a few months. I’ll test it and see if anything’s going on.

Since this is while your driving the alternator should be maintaining a fairly constant voltage.
I would buy a cheapo ciggy lighter volt meter to monitor the voltage while this happens.
I believe this can be achieved on the dash but I don't know how, and since your ciggy lighter is low down it would be preferable.

Battery is good and also charging well, voltage doesn’t fluctuate when fault occurs. It hadn’t done it again until today. Exactly the same issue, I noticed when I got out the van after switching it off the right side tail and front sidelights were on also and the central locking was not responding.

Van wouldn’t start also after removing SAM unit to check for water ingress, it was dry as a bone.
Got a SAM unit from the scrapyard (£20!) plugged in and now all sorted…result!

Check the old one for any corrosion on the terminals.

It may be useful as a spare.
