Fan under Airbox

<div class="bbWrapper">I’ve had to replace my main battery under the airbox. I’ve noticed that the small white fan is constantly running. It’s on even when the car is locked. Does anyone have any idea as to why this is? Thanks in advance. It’s a W207 coupe.</div>
