I have got approved used car GLA in March this year, reg 71 plate(registered Nov 2021). My car says that a service is due March 2024. I am planning to have a service and MOT with dealer but can it be possible to have together same time ? Or have a service in March and wait MOT till Nov 2024?

To keep your warranty valid, the service needs to be done in March 2024 as presumably, the dealership serviced the car in March this year before selling it to you and reset the counter then. However, it is best to check with your dealer if March is the correct date because it's not unknown for dates to get out of kilter. The MOT is due at 3 years irrespective of when the service is due but it doesn't need to be done by the main dealer.

Hope this helps, but if not, ask further.

As suggested already, you will need to have your car serviced when it is next due in order to maintain the warranty, so if tha/ due in March then the service will need to be done then (or accept that any future warranty claim may not be successful).

You are not legally required to OT the car until i/ third birthday, but there’s nothing stopping you doing it in Marcch (or any other time) for your own convenience or peace of mind. You’ll just incur the cost of the MOT sooner than you would otherwise.

Having an MOT done at the main dealer whilst the car is under warranty can be helpful as they can then submit a warranty claim to fix any issues they identify however the service would likely pick those up anyway, so a marginal benefit for you.

If you really want the main dealer to do the MOT - and they are a very long way from home/work - then book it in for both the service and MOT in March. If not, just service it in March and take back in October for the MOT.

If the MOT is done during the 30 days before it’s due then the MOT anniversary date will be preserved, so it could be valid for up to 13 months. If the MOT is done at any other time then the he next MOT will be due 12 months after the test date.
