Need some advice please, I am considering fitting 18" to my S212 E350 wheels this coming summer, I currently have 16" Winter wheels, and 17" Summer. The question is, Do I need a staggered setup or can I run for example 245/40/18 all around.
TIA
Ally

Yes you can fit 8.5j x18" all round. No need for staggered rims if you don't want them.
The tyre size you quoted is correct too.

Do you have to report such mods to insurers in Germany or they are a bit more relaxed?

Not to the insurers, but you must have go to the TüV (MOT center) and have them entered into you car documents, or have a certificate of compliance that they fit your vehicle. Every change you make be it tinted windows, wheels or tyres size, even fitting a towbar. All have to be entered in the documents. Fortunately mine had 18" wheels in the original build.

Thanks. Tbh it makes much more sense than reporting to insurers.

If it's in your car papers (which you have in 2 parts) Part 2 being kept in the car, shows all the additional fitments and option for wheel and tyres sizes. As well as stated top speed, engine and emissions class, Towing weight, etc
