I placed a bid of £25000 on item no:320117348717 my bid was cancelled by the seller and it is now at £1.00 without reserve.I have reported the item as a possible fraudulent listing, but where are their security experts ??

Hello,

I posted a link to that car as it looked nice, its obviously a con as it 'sold' last time.

Please tell me you would have looked at it before placing the bid though?

Report it and leave...

Yes - possible scam but did you get prior approval for your bid as the add requests ;)

But it is always interesting when you get such an auction from a zero feedback bod:rolleyes:

There was an identical listing to this except for the colour of the car listed recently, also identified as a scam, so beware!

I did bid on it without seeing it but would not be parting with a penny without a full HPI,road test and inspection and I would be collecting it with a couple of extremely large and ill tempered friends of mine.
Thanks for your concern.

Yep this seems like a pretty strong scam have had ALOT recently posted here

It's a shame really, but nowadays it really is BUYER BEWARE!

But that goes for everything and anywhere you buy from.

Yup couldnt agree more, there used to be a program on the BBC a few years back called Lifting The Bonnet and it covered alot car tips tricks and crime that a buyer should be aware of when buying a car, only remembered by the quote 'BUYER BEWARE'

Hang on though, once you've bid you're committed to paying (if you win). If you want to do an inspection / road test / etc. you should do that first!

Yes but the item should also be as advertised. If a check reveals that the "immaculate" car is actually a scrapper or a scam then you can walk away. Is he going to sue you?

From Ebay ad said:
This is a pre-approved auction.Email me before place any bid to get approved. Every bids placed without my approval will be cancelled.

Begs the question, did you email the seller first ?

I dont know why anyone would do this but it is quite clear that bids will be cancelled if not pre approved.
