1991 Mercedes SL 500, finished in a near immaculate showroom condition.
The car is fitted with one of the best Mercedes engines, the bullet proof 5 litre V8. The car has covered a genuine 76000 miles with full service history. The body work is immaculate and this particular model benefits from a Carlsson body kit, which emphasizes the sporting nature of this vehicle. The gearbox benefits from a recent service and is seemless in its changes. No jerks or clunks. The engine has very good oil pressure, always at 3 when driving and above 2 when idling (after being driven).
The interior has just had a £2000 make over. The front seats and door cards have been retrimmed in original Mercedes leather by KELENCO in woking. The interior was spruced up to match the exterior of the car and to set it apart from the other SLs. A new wood steering and wood/leather gear knob were added. Finishing touches as chrome ring around the instrument cluster and gearshift surround were added. The seats are electric memory seats and can be adjusted in every which way. The centre mirror is also electrically adjustable.
The wheels are very special Carlsson 3 piece split rims which cost a staggering £2800!! They have a very highly polished lip, almost chrome. I can guarenttee you won't see a similar looking SL! The tyres are all practically new. The fronts are 245 Yokohoma, and the rears are 285 Continentals.
The bottom half cladding and bumpers of the cars were removed and colour coded and the Carlsson styling was installed. This cost £2000+ and was done by specialists. The front/rear and side lights were updated for the 2000 model lights which cost another £300
The car is fully loaded and included in the sale is a Cd player, and a uprated 400W JL audio amp powering upgraded MB Quartz reference speakers. This setup alone is worth £800.
The exhaust has recently been replaced by a Remus Sports system which cost around £500 and has a lifetime guareentee.
The soft top is in good condition and is in a dark navy blue colour. A silver PANORAMIC HARDTOP is included.
The service history book is fully stamped and up to date with no gaps or years without service. The car has just been serviced and the last service bill was for £1400. Other recent work carried out in the last 2000 miles includes:
New radiator ( viscous coupling broke and punctured radiotor)
New water pump
New Viscous fan coupling
Full gearbox oil and filter service
New fan belt
New fuel filter
New thermostat
New brake discs and pads
Service with MOBIL1 Fully synthethic oil

Basicallly i have recent bills of £3000 spent on the servicing of the car alone!
So to sum up i have spent £3000 on service items, £2500 on the bodywork, £1000 on the stereo, £2500 for the wheel, £750 for tyres, £500 on the exhaust, £2000 on the interior. So thats about £12000 Spent on this car!!!
