Hi Guys can you help I have an e220 blue efficancy the gearbox was stuck in one gear changed the conductor plate, and had gears but Slippin changed the torque converter now no movement at all,, have I goosed the gearbox.
can you also help me identify which box is in mine WDD2120022A065207 is chassis number TIA

Hard to be 100% on this but I think the oil pump is driven off two pegs on the input shaft of the gearbox. They are easy to break if you don't fit the T/C mounted correctly on the shaft, rather than trying to fit the box with the T/C already fitted. If you have sheared the pump drive that may one of the issues.

I have a box saved on ebay but not sure if it will fit

Have you seen this thread
You won’t get the tc out just by removing the sump!
It isn’t a massive job to drop the transmission out complete, but bear in mind it is heavy. Surprisingly heavy. If replacing the tc I recommend standing the gearbox (with an assistant) on its tail, and dropping the new tc down vertically. You must ensure it goes fully home into the bellhousing. If you don’t it will shear the oil pump drive tabs, and that’s a whole box strip to replace. If I had a pound for everytime I had to replace an oil pump because another mechanic had messed up fitting a torque converter to a 722.x transmission I’d have, well, about eight quid, but you get my point...

tach bounce can be a sign of tc failure, but in my experience a light vibe, akin to crossing a cattle grid just after a gearchange is the most common symptom

This is the thread you mean…

I took the gear box off but like you said I don't think I had all way in as the box now has an oil leak, which it hadn't before,

Hi William is that thumbs up mean it will fit lol

That's the part number from the casing, you need the 722.6 number stamped onto the machined flat section on the housing
But surely they can be integrated with another if you have the box and the converter ?? cos its proving pretty hard to find said box

The ratios vary, and the wrong box won’t work in your car because the electronics all monitor the wheel speeds. If it’s not as expected it will stay in limp. If you fit a secondhand box the numbers must all match

I saw a video of this being done with the box standing vertically in a stack of tyres , the margin for error getting it lined up was quite small and so doing the job horizontally meant it was easy to tighten the bell housing with the alignment out = pump damage.

Can't find the video , sorry.

Repeating myself here, but you are still searching for the transmission code and I gave it to you in Post#3 above.

Using the Vin# you supplied, the transmission code is 722.646 07 814224.
See for yourself
