Guard 360 degree package

Like many other MB owners, we lost the tracking ability for our cars sometime ago without as much as an email notification.

Apparently it was due to the switching off of 3g networks.

I was curious about MB's offer of the GUARD 360 degree Package; reading into it it's really only someone helping the police to trace my vehicle if stolen, but hang on, if they can trace my vehicle then why can't I?

I'm assuming this package is available to my vehicle but how are they able to track my car?

Ahhhh ..... the mystery of 'digital extras' and the particular mystery of "Guard 360".

It might be something to do with protection when your car is parked and something happens.

Or it might be help if your vehicle is stolen.

It's a bit like cosmetics -- Guard 360 reduces the signs of insecurity in your vehicle and 8 out of 10 owners with Guard 360 think it might have something to do with something to do with the security of their vehicle.

It uses the car's inbuilt mobile data comms - so presumably 4G and possibly 5G with the words "Depending on your vehicle model, the special equipment you have chosen, the year of manufacture and country".

Guard 360 is simply the provision of a physical security guard to look after your car whilst waiting for it to be picked up, but that is assuming it is actually found/recovered after a theft. It has nothing to do with connectivity, as your car is no longer trackable via any built-in means given its age.

If you want a cheap and cheerful way of tracking your car when you're not in it and you use an iPhone, buy an Apple Air-Tag and sequester in the car somewhere - not fool proof but will give you a very good idea of its position should the worst happen.
