Ferrari International Assistance to the rescue again. Ferrari no point at Australia so Mercedes Mclaren banned from Malaysia:devil::devil::devil:

There's no word on any of the F1 sites about any disqualification from Malaysia. I don't believe this would have been included in the "punishment".

Wrong on both counts, nothing to do with Ferrari and no ban from Malaysia.

They were asked what happened.

They weren't forthcoming with what actually happened which isn't in the spirit of the sport (Which to be fair is a different discussion entirely)

It annoyed me though as my F1 Fantasy League points have now dropped

Dave!

Bit like football then.

LH should walk to the grid next race with a pained innocence expression and do the 'who me?' 'uhh what?' routine to the crowd and his team.

The first report on BBC mentioned a next race punishment and the latest report on news 24 mentioned "further punishment" for lying. Re Ferrari, thats the whole point it has nothing to do with Ferrari but Ferrari has a bad race and some technicality is always found to level the playing field. Ferrari always support the FIA and the FIA always support Ferrari. Tell me at the end of the season that Ferrari haven't been helped.

Race 1: Ferrari score no points - Mclaren score points but have them removed on a technicality.

Race 2: Ferrari need to score points so Mclaren barred from race?, must start from back of the grid?, have to drive blind fold.........wait and see which option will get Ferrari out of jail this season!

Mclaren have to not only race Ferrari but the FIA as well.

well they know the score so they should stop lying to stewards.
Either way they would have been screwed. Overtaking trulli or letting him pass back

Worth the rerun:

Ferrari International assistance. (FIA)

Got a Ferrari?

Not quite good enough at driving?

Are other boys faster than you in the wet?

Then you need:

Ferrari International Assistance (FIA)

This exclusive Ferrari only membership club has many benefits. Including:

Anti overtaking assurance
Been overtaken? Feel a bit silly? Don't worry, we'll rule out the other party, even if it's embarrassingly obvious that they're faster than you

Exclusive access to a secret second lane in the pits
Just to make things a little bit easier we've arranged a private second lane just for you

Guaranteed world championship?
Had a crash? Need to win the world championship? Don't worry just limp across the track and take out your nearest championship title contender - we'll do the rest

A bit strapped? Need extra cash?
Simply get one of your team to tell someone else how you make your cars.

Bits falling off your car? Looking a bit dangerous?
At Ferrari International Assistance we operate a 'blind eye' policy just for Ferrari drivers

Been a bit silly? Taken out another driver whilst following the safety car?
It's ok, as long as you didn't hurt yourself. I mean, who are Force India anyway? And how dare they be in front of you

A bit bored? Want some extra action?
With FIA plus you can take part in a number of additional membership activities

Not sure when you might need us next?
Relax. Check out our track record. We're confident that we'll be able to make something up on the spot that will get you out of any pickle that you might find yourself in

Ferrari International Assistance - Making it up as we go along for over 100 years

It does seem to be a little of "damned if you do, damned if you don't".

I also can't get my head round why Trulli's penalty has been removed...

I'm getting tired of this. Can't we just fight the championship on the track ? Getting very boring now not knowing if a race result is valid or not.

Never happen in horse racing....

There's something very odd about this entire thing. It's nonsense.

If we are to believe McLaren then they asked race control multiple times for a straight answer and got no response.....if that is the case it's just apalling that they are penalised after the event.

This steward issue needs to be addressed...it's simply wrecking the sport at the moment.

Would a request that wasn't answered be logged and recorded?

I have long since given up on F1 but it is fairly clear that between them Hamilton and McLaren failed to tell the Stewards about something fairly important (i.e. considering/letting Trulli back past) and Whitmarsh gives the game away by relying on telemetry for the whole lap rather than just stating whether or not Lewis moved over.

They should have just driven to the flag rather than ***** about with Trulli behind the safety car, could you imagine Schumacher pulling over to let Trulli past after having fallen off the track?

(Edit: Since when is Mrs Craddock'ing about considered rude?)

and incurred a 25 minute/hour penalty.
mclaren is screwed either way and schumi drove a red car

I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories (FIA = Ferrari International Rescue, etc.) but this makes no sense.

If Trulli was off the track when LH passed him, then Trulli should not have re-passed LH and Trulli's penalty should stand. If Trulli was allowed to re-pass LH, why not just dismiss Mclaren's appeal, and let the result stand?
