Just above rivers head there’s a 6” circle of headlining letting go , it not sagged but you can feel it’s not attached right , I am removing the smell of smoke the previous owner must have been heavy smoker
Don’t know if this caused it , but any ideas how to restick it without releasing the headcloth ,
Was going to try steaming and a we roller to see if it would reattach, but open to suggestions.

get a syringe and inject some light glue in various areas, then press it gently back into place using a rolled or towel or similar so as not to show the glued areas.

Today I got a tin of spray carpet glue and cut nozzle off to a point where a straw from wd40 fitted with a bit of tape , I then punched tiny hole in the headcloth put the straw in and squirted around the loose area , then placed a packed up cushion on top of head rest and pushed it up tight ,
So leaving it over night , will know tomorrow if it’s a success. Fingers crossed.

Hopefully the cushion will not be stuck to the headlining in the morning. If it is you will have extra crash protection so no problem

Slight prob the idea was good and it worked but the carpet glue which is meant to be stain free left a few marks , i think I should have cleaned the headcloth first as I think the glue brought out any dirt { smoker owned car before me } and the glue has brought the smoke out to cause the marks , so another project how to remove stains.
I think out of frying pan into the fire comes to mind.

If it's been smoked in try some apc in a plant sprayer and a micro fiber and wetvac. Spray on with sprayer rub in with microfiber and wetvac out.

Start smoking and match the rest of the lining.
