Hi everyone.

New member here - picking up my first Mercedes on Tuesday (6th Nov). Unfortunately, not a new one, but on the bright side, a decent looking W215 CL500 (2003, Facelift). Looking forward to my first V8. Not looking forward to the maintenance bills, although I have managed to snag a 2 year warranty to go with the car, so hopefully that'll cover anything drastic.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated & I look forward to becoming a member of the community...

GTB TT ...... in blue by any chance?

An excellent choice..... but I’m biased, :) not too far away in sunny Ruislip, and I’ve got an icarsoft980 Code reader if you ever need a hand, great indie in Harrow, talk to Terry @ Wayne Gates, great service and knows ABC system. :D

Ps photos when you get it :)

Always good to know some local places with appropriate knowledge & experience, so thanks :)

First job is probably going to be figuring out how to get my phone to talk to it via bluetooth & how to update the satnav (or if that's even worthwhile). Looks as though it has a TV tuner (although I suspect that'll need to be updated to pick up digital signals now) - anyone with any experience of doing that successfully? I'll post questions on the appropriate forum sections once I'm a little more clued up on what I need to ask!

Snap :)

Actually when I said ‘TT Blue’? - it was in relation to your handle, I knew another local-ish photographer who had a Subaru Legacy GTB in blue...

Tried to upload a photo of mine also in chalcedonnay blue, but getting ‘file too big’
Have to ‘toot’ if we pass by each other

Sat Nav - not worth updating, the hardware is old, free Waze app on your phone is better.

TV tuner will be analogue, you need to fit a 12v digital tuner (pretty cheap on eBay / Amazon) and you can get it working, search out threads by a sadly departed member named “Television” he had a thread on how to fit it.

Ah... Not me I'm afraid. Never had a Scooby.

Thanks - I gave the sat nav a go this evening & wasn't hugely impressed. I'll probably stick to the phone as suggested.
I'll look out for the posts by "Television"

Presumably the best way to hook up the phone via bluetooth would be using one of the DAB adapters that does Bluetooth too (Pure 600 or something similar)?

I’ve got an Bluetooth/FM adaptor to stream music from my phone to car radio. £15 works ok.
