Hi all

Is it possible to identify the correct colour of the wood trim on my E500 from the VIN?
I have some damaged bits to replace, but want to make sure I order the correct colour (as all the part numbers are the same I believe)?
Thanks

I can have a look for you. What’s the VIN?

If you check the part on EPC, using your VIN, then EPC will show both the part number and the specific colour code for that item. The colour code will typically be a 4-digit extension after the 10-digit part number, e.g. A 211 000 00 00 1234 - in this case the 1234 is the colour code.

Just had a quick look at EPC for your VIN, trim items such as ashtray cover and pigeonhole surround show as 'Birdseye Maple Wood trim Black', the garnish strip across the dash as Birds Eye Maple Anthracite (9D57).

Just as is shown in Markjays post above (items 180, 240 and 320).

All 3 were shown as coming from option 732 (Birds Eye Maple Wood Trim Black) on 954 (Avantgarde) vehicles. The data card for your car doesn't have option 732, but I would guess its a default for silver cars with option 954, Avantgarde.

Thanks for that

Thanks for those links. I assume this system is only available to MB service centres as it needs a login.

No, follow the registration link and the 4th paragraph down states it is available to private individuals - use customer category 8 when registering. I think the annual charge is around £38 pa.

You can also get this service by joining the Mercedes-Benz Club (Home | Official Mercedes-Benz Club ), cost is pretty much the same.

Some of us have snapshot copies of EPC/WIS, usually found on the normal online marketplace for about a tenner. Bit cumbersome though as they come inside a VmWare or VirtualBox packaged environment.
