How can you tell if an AMG car has been heavily modified ?

'Heavy' modifications are usually very easy to spot , hear of feel. A lot of people who own AMG cars can simply not resit some sort of modification.......

It’s actually quite a good question, when you’re talking about hidden modifications.

I looked at a Ginetta once that had a very highly tuned Vegantune motor. There were tons of receipts for the engine work (about £15k which in 1993 when it was built was a lot!). But actually nothing tying these costs to that engine or car. Ultimately it was a case of trusting the vendor. It sounded tight and snappy like a highly tuned engine but actually there was no way of knowing for sure if it had carello rods and forged pistons etc etc unless you took it apart. I didnt buy it in the end.

my Dads friend bought an Audi Quattro S1 (group B) replica that was actually a cut and shut as per the original with the front end of an Audi 80, so done well (rather than just a shortened Audi Coupe). Apparently the engine had had a fortune spent on it. He bought it, and it turned out the engine had stock internals just up rated external bits. So I guess you never really know!

Hi , any suggestions please
I think most amg owners would tend to go for visible up grades ,
Ie bigger wheels , side skirt decals etc. To go down mechanical route can be expensive, if you have doubts as to it being mapped etc it would not cost much to get the b h p checked.

^ Good grief.
Some things just cannot be unseen.
I m o looks terrible, bet it cost a fair bit to get it done.
