How do you print the colour White

As the title suggests, I am desperate to print the colour white. No not on white paper.

I want to print onto transparancies. I own an epson printer and have a number of photo type pieces of software. I have tried reading the Help items but have not found the relevant piece. (no doubt it is there, I just cannot find it)

What happens if you choose the following in the print settings (below) and try to print on a transparency ?

Thanks everyone I think 'Twice' has hit the nail on the head. My morphine adled brain had forgotten I had indeed tried Sym's suggestion.

This time I just typed the word 'Test' in a large font, changed the colour to white and then altered the type of paper to transparency.

Ziltch, nothing. I saw that Sym was low on ink so thought that might be the reason, but as soon as I changed the colour off it went and printed the word. I don't understand why it doesn't print white but it definitely doesn't on my Epson 950. Surely the white bits in photographs that I print are not blank patches?

Where do you get your inks from. I posted a link to MX2 which is the cheapest that I have found.... Unless you know different????

I was hoping I could somehow set the 'transparency' colour that the printer would ignore? I thought that perhaps it was set as white by default??

Oh well so far it looks like 'Twice' has supplied me with the bad news,

John - thats' exactly what they are. Which is why if you print on coloured paper you don't get any white And it's why good quality photo paper goes for the whitest white it can. Your printer will throw the odd dot or two as pure white in a picture is rarely pure white - there will be bits of shade etc. so look very very slosely at an inkjet print with something white in it and you'll see what I mean. You may need a magnifying glass to see the dots.

I am sure your absolutely right (white ) It is annoying because I wanted to do some white sign writing for the children. Oh well back to the drawing board.

For some unknown reason I am not getting 'Instant Mail Notification' even though it is set, and has been working perfectly.

Looks like it all went wrong starting with your boiler
