Greetings.
Has anyone used an in-line water filter to rinse their car after washing which eliminates water spots or the need to dry the car? If so, which one?
Many thanks

Yeah, as above from RaceGlaz, there are other alternative brands at different costs Depending on budget.

They are definitely worth having , I've been running one for a good few yrs now, in the summer months I'll use the DI for the whole process.

If you are planning on wall mounting it in place, them go for 14ltr vessel as this can be run through a jet wash too.

Hi
I have bought two DI resin filters and replacement resin from a company called Vyair, very good service and quality product with quick despatch and delivery.
You will also need a Water tester so you can check the quality of the water so you know when to change the resin
Here is the link to the ones I have bought.
There is a 25% off offer on Boxing day I believe as well.

Thank you. Very much appreciated.

Do you know if it has a gauze filter so you can use a pressure washer with it without sucking out the fill? Also, what is the difference between the resin fills available? Thanks
Hey buddy, you can buy the mesh filters from RaceGlaz, or most places on line, you need 2, one on the exit of the vessel, and another on the inlet connection of your machine. It just fits inside the Tap connection.

As mentioned its ideal to get a PPM tester aswell to monitor the level, when the the resins stop working the water actually gets harder than before causing even more spotting.

When going with resin, you'll always want Virgin resin, if your PPM is above 250 then look at MB151 resin. This is more durable for hard water areas or MB115 exactly the same quality but better suited for for figures below 250. Again either Vyair, county detailing or RaceGlaz

By in-line do you mean the cartridge type that goes in-line in the hose - they work but don't last very long and are not refillable (ergo expensive).

Don’t use it with the PWasher - you just need a nice slow stream (so the resin has time to work as the water comes through the filter) that you spread over the car after your final rinse (i.e. you are just rinsing off the unfiltered tap-water.

It is simply a waste of resin (you can see the link below that the sellers call it a “rinsing water filter” to wash the car with filtered water - only use it for final rinse but keep the car wet until you have finished washing (I usually do mine when it is cool and the water does not dry too quickly). I’ve had mine several years and they are brilliant.

Been looking into this as well, thanks

One last thing. 7ltr RaceGlaze versus 11ltr Vyair? The refills for the RaceGlaze are a lot cheaper. Thanks

OK so go with the 11ltr, the refills I get from Vyair they quite a bit cheaper than RaceGlaz but still virgin resin.
Most refills are available in 25ltr bags so always go with the larger vessel if you can

Looked at various options and needs (eg hard versus soft water eg cartridge life eg how much space, etc). Decided vessel.

Vyair DI vessel (25l) is probably my best 2021 "detailing" purchase.

Should have bought one years ago. From a cynic to a total convert. Really does leave a spot free finish.

As Rory guides - I solely use for final rinse. Have temporarily installed a manifold to allow me to use various feeds (hosepipe, pressure washer, tap, DI vessel) until plumb everything in properly.

You don’t have to buy their (RG) refills which are expensive. You can purchase the same resin from window washer suppliers and other places for a lot less money.

Been looking into this aswell. As I am a hobbyist. Not sure if something like this would do the job for washing the car every couple of weeks. What are your thoughts? Just looking for cheaper alternatives

Wayyyy too cold to wash the car. 🥶

How much cheaper and you’ll be changing resin a lot more often - so there is the convenience factor.
