Hi MBclub,
I'm having an issue with my 2011 C220 CDI whereby the car is frequently letting me down with power. To be precise, it sticks at higher revs for longer (around 2000), and refuses to properly accelerate, which at one point when I didn't know it was happening nearly caused an accident. What I mean is it doesn't downshift and the turbo doesn't seem to kick in when you drop your boot to overtake.
The CEL doesn't illuminate when this is happening. I only noticed this happening recently, where it was a one off, but now the car will exhibit these issues most days. This is sometimes but not always accompanied by the last two gears being very jerky downshifts, to the point where you end up lurching forward slightly in your seat.
The CEL did come on the other day, so I scanned it and got P0236 'Turbocharger / Supercharger Boost Sensor A Circuit Range / Performance'. It has since gone off, even though my cheap tool didn't seem to want to clear it!
Thanks in advance if any can suggest what it might be - I have it booked into my local specialist but not for another two weeks. Fingers double crossed it's just a sensor.....
