JERKY START WHEN USING ECO

I have just purchased a C200 2016, and overall I am very please with the car. However, when I and in a queue and have ECO Mode selected when I lift my foot off the brake pedal the car starts with a jerk and lurches forward (only slightly but enough to be annoying). My daughter owns a C63 V8 and when using ECO in her car the startup is imperceptible and it doesn't jerk. Is there something wrong with the ECO Mode or is it more to do with my driving style.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
:)

Its still under warranty so I would take it back asap to get it checked. Go out with a technician and show them. I think I am familiar with the sensation you are getting and its a charateristic.

Thanks for the prompt reply, I have read a couple of forums where owners are experiencing similar symptoms, but have been told by the technicians that is just a characteristic of that model. so I guess I will just have to get used to it.
thanks again.

Don’t experience that on mine but I very rarely use Eco mode much preferring Sport.

Are you inadvertently applying the hold function?

Mine needs the lightest of touches to apply and there can be a jerk (very slight) when moving off if not being gentle with the go pedal.

Hi Robin
To be honest, I am not sure I am using the ECO mode properly. When I am in a queue I keep my foot on the brake all the time and only lift it off when the traffic starts moving. Is this correct?

Sounds normal to me.

In mine, it shuts the engine off if you press hard enough on the brake and the car is within the normal engine shut off parameters.

I don't know if this relevent as it's not a new C Class but i had a new A class as a loaner the other day from Mercedes and it did exactly the same thing.
I was stuck in traffic mostly when driving it so didn't get a chance to try sports mode but it was also in Eco and was rather annoying as it was quite jerky when coming of the break after using stop start i ended up applying light touch to the break avoiding using the stop start function.

I totally avoid Eco mode on mine - feels like driving the car through a plate of custard!
With mine being hybrid you do sometimes get a bit of lag whilst it's deciding whether to use the diesel engine or electric motor, hoping a software update may help when it gets serviced next.

When you come to a stop give and extra stab on the brake pedal to apply the hold function.

If stop/start is within parameters the engine will cut out, applying acceleration will release the hold function and you can move off.

When hold is applied you can take your foot off the brake until ready to go again.
