Hi all, just wondered if any of you are into karting, not the modern stuff but more of the 70's 80's or 90's? After a near 30 year absence I decided to buy/build something close to my heart in the form of a 1988 Kali Laval and PCR TS50 motor. Only been out on it once so far at the end of last year, now just waiting for weather to warm up a little before the next adventure :)

Did quite a bit in the early 2000,s Prokart, 250 National, won some stuff too. mainly worthless plastic tat but sentimental.

My last memories of Karting was on a circuit at Spa.

I had been taken there on a Corporate jolly and we had enjoyed the local hospitality until 4am🙄. We turned up at the circuit a little "jaded" at 8am with the mist just clearing and watched as rather quick Karts were taken out and warmed up by laughing locals.

I remember we were being sponsored by the Company for the number of laps we could manage in each sprint session.

A French colleague looked at the Karts and the weather then handed me a cigarette (I didn't smoke) and said with a typical French attitude but "Take it, it may be your last chance my friend" 🤣

There was a chap I recall who who wore a full racing suit, personalised helmet etc. He was the slowest out there 😂

God, that looks fun! Kart almost looks wider than it is long.

iirc correctly, from a chat at a BOTG several years ago, Olly used to be quite handy and into karting.....

Yep Olly had karting stuff hanging on the walls in the workshop at PCS.

I went karting back in the mid 90’s to an open air gaff in Kent. Very much enjoyed it but I’m never going to be a racing driver.

I went to a place called Amen Corner with some guys from MBClub around 12 years ago and finished tailed off.
If I was a horse, you'd think I'd been nobbled. IIRC, it was the first time I had tried karting, certainly as an adult and no amount of practice would make me a racing driver, either.

Also, (this was before my spine injury), I don't think it was at all good for my back
