Has anyone had their key recoded to help prevent unintentional boot opening while key in trouser pocket. Random boot opening happens to me occasionally despite my key being in a key wallet. If so how much did it cost you per key at dealer ?

It seems recoding is possible from gen 6 keys onwards re attached MB technical bulletin xentry topic LI72.20-P-075746.

You mean accidental as in depressing the button? Are you sure you're not accidentally swiping your foot under the tailgate with the key in your pocket? That would also do the same thing...

Yes accidentally pressing the button whilst house/car keys together in pocket eg as you sit down. If you google this scenario it’s mentioned quite often, not just for Mercedes. I don’t have comfort access.

In fairness I’ve had this problem several times and have been surprised to see the boot open. I always look back at the car now as I walk away.
Just folding the key back against the flat sided fob is enough to trigger it.
The boot button doesn’t look particularly proud.
