Kickdown switch

Hi.
When I try the accelerator kick down switch, the car loses power and I can no longer use M 'manual / padle' mode.
The car will no longer allow me to rev more than 2500 rpm.
No warning lights appear on the dash.
I have to stop, turn off ignition and wait a few mins or exit the vehicle.
It then seems to reset and is normal again.
Any advice?

Limp mode , needs diagnostic fault codes , possible pedal issue .

Thanks. But it's fine at normal speeds, only have this issue at high speed

sounds like the start of an issue that needs investigating. Definitely get the codes read. Could be anything from a boost leak to a fuel issue.. If its doing it at high speed/revs then its telling you there is a problem.
